Abstract

Reflecting the recent revisions of tsunami risk assessments in Japan, many municipal governments began to consider automobile use in tsunami evacuation. In order to ensure safety during automobile evacuation under the diverse spatial distribution of evacuees, we propose a method of “advance route notification + indication, ” in which a small number of evacuation routes are informed to residents in advance, and the routes to be actually used are indicated according to the spatial distribution of evacuees at the time of a disaster. This study examined a technological problem that how to prepare a set of multiple routes that can adapt to diverse spatial distributions of evacuees.
