In expressway pavement, damage that propagates to deep layers of the pavement structure has been confirmed.Under these circumstances, in order to sustainably provide safe, secure, and comfortable road surface, it is necessary to comprehensively grasp information on the soundness of pavement structures and reflect it in pavement management. In this study, we investigated a road surface deflection measurement method using a light section method that can continuously acquire high-precision height information for the development of a mobile deflection measurement device for high-speed driving.Specifically, the loading method was determined by FEM analysis to be a single-axle, single-wheel type, and a prototype vehicle was built that could carry a 10-ton axle weight while satisfying the general limits of the Vehicle Restriction Ordinance and continuously acquiring the road surface profile at the position where the wheel passes. Then, we conducted test measurements on an actual expressway, and confirmed that the measurement results approximated the FWD survey.
