Abstract

By concentrating on the application of geosynthetics as base course reinforcement, this study aims to create a novel technique for prolonging the service life of asphalt pavements. In this study, FEM analysis and small tank tests were conducted using two types of geosynthetics and base course materials that had distinct woven fabric and geogrid qualities. Rainwater infiltration through asphalt layer cracks was replicated in the small tank experiment. The findings demonstrated that the base course's deformation and reduction in bearing capacity may be controlled by using geosynthetics.
