Abstract

In this study, we investigated experimentally the relationship between the temperature and the refractive index at the mass ratio of water to glycerol to prepare the experimental equations (calibration curves) for the glycerol-method that can be used for measurements under different temperature conditions. From the obtained results, it was found that the refractive index of the aqueous glycerol mixture solution decreased with increasing the temperature, and the linear relationship between the two was observed regardless of the mass ratio of water to glycerol. Furthermore, it was shown that calibration curves under any temperature conditions could be prepared by entering the necessary data such as mass, temperature and refractive index.
