Abstract
  The Duration of a high wave is gaining in importance with the shift not only in the case of the external-force evaluation to a coastal structure, but to the performance design. Moreover, the repeat interval of a high wave is important also from the escape time of a working craft, or a viewpoint of reservation of a continuation calm day, in case the construction operating ratio of marine construction is examined.
  This research was aimed at modeling of the duration of the high wave which used the statistics value of an observation wave. For the wave in the winter of the Sea of Japan, the change in the significant wave height to the standard wave height was treated as a wave group. And which examined the generating condition of a high wave, and the appearance probability property of duration of a high wave.
