Abstract
 Yatsushiro bay has large tide level and been get the exuberant environment for the halophyte. However, the halophyte habitat in Yatsushiro Bay has been decreasing because of the development of the coastal zone. Recently, it is becoming popular among society to prevent the tidal flat and the biodiversity implementation. We conducted the field survey to clarify the halophyte of habitat and existing conditions in Yatsushiro Bay. As a result of this study, the halophyte has been existing in the small area of the sheltered water and the brackish waters. Atriplex gmelinii was exuberating place that low level of salt and high ground level.
