Abstract
The purpose of this study is to improve mass conservation and accuracy for interface capturing in a three-dimensional multiphase flow numerical model "DOLPHIN-3D" by introducing a THINC/WLIC method. The validity of the THINC/WLIC method was firstly verified through 1D, 2D and 3D advection tests. The utility of the multiphase flow model developed here was comfirmed by applying it to dam break problem and collision problems between water collapse-induced bore and a rigid body. The results revealed that the model has sufficient mass conseravation and high accuracy for interface capturing.
