Abstract
The tsunami wave force acting on land structures has been reported to be dependent on Froude number of incoming tsunamis. When tsunami wave force is evaluated by using drag coefficient, however, constant values is commonly used thus Froude number effects are not considered. In this study, wave pressure distribution model is proposed considering the formation of hydraulic jump on the front side and the formation of the cavity area on the backward of the column. Wave force was then computed by integrating wave pressure around the column. Drag coefficient for a circular cylinder and a square column was presented and good agreement with experimental data was shown.
