Abstract
 In this study, we inspected an earthquake-resistant improvement effect of the rubber mat and an effect of the mortise in an upright wave absorbing block with the mortise by a model experiment using the shaking table. We used four kinds of two kinds of hardness and two kinds of thicknesses for rubber mat. From this experiment, similarly to the rectangular parallelepiped concrete block model, we were confirmed the effect of lowering the frequency by installing the rubber mat. In addition, we were able to confirm the effectiveness of the mortise.
