SUMMARY OF THE SPECIAL SESSION “CURENT STATUS AND PERSPECTIVE OF THE NORTHERN SEA ROUTE”

Abstract

 The special session on “Current status and perspective on the Northern Sea Route”, which is aiming at introducing current status of research topics on the Northern Sea Route, had been carried out. In the session, four research papers were presented and panel discussion was held. The session topic covered sea ice observation and forecast, navigation in ice covered waters, natural resource development, international regime, and maritime transport.
