MECHANICS OF GABION MAT DAMAGE AND DEVELOPMENT OF DAMAGE ASSESMENT TECHNIQUES TO GABION MATS USING A DRONE

Abstract

 Gabion mat is a common shore protection techniques in Japan. However, it does not last longer compared to concrete armor blocks in general. Therefore, drone is applied to reveal the mechanics of gabion mat damage by waves, then new damage assessment techniques to gabion mat type shore protection works is developed and applied.
