Abstract
As a traffic safety measures, Porous concrete (POC) pavement is adopted around the entrances of the Shorenjigawa tunnel in Yodogawasagan-Route in Hanshin Expressway. However, it was the first time that POC pavement was used for such a heavy traffic route. It is required to have sufficient performances such as strength, durability and skid resistance. Comparative studies that changes mix proportion included water-binder ratio, aggregates types and void content were conducted. The results indicate all the mixes of POC prepared for this study satisfies performance for highway. Structure details of the POC pavement were designed and checked by FEM analysis. Construction method was proposed based on the results of the test construction. Quality of POC pavement was verified through quality tests during construction.
