Abstract

In Hokkaido, which is a cold region with snow, many potholes occur on the road surface during the thawing season due to deterioration of the pavement. In this study, the following points were carried out using the point cloud data of the paved road surface acquired by the Mobile Mapping System. We found the characteristics of the altitude value of the place where the pothole (baby pothole: BPH) that does not affect vehicle running.. Estimating trends in road surface water represented by running and stagnant water on the road surface . By collating these with the positions of BPH, the risk of BPH progressing to PH was evaluated on a 5-point scale. Furthermore, based on the obtained results, we proposed a method for evaluating the risk of PH occurrence from the point cloud data acquired by MMS.
