Abstract

To reduce CO2 emission and achieve long-life pavement, this paper focused on cement asphalt emulsion stabilization (CAE) mixture as base course material and evaluated its applicability.

According to the various test results and the calculation of CO2 emission intensity, it was found that CAE mixture is more effective than other base course materials. In addition, for the purpose of expanding the application of CAE mixture, the issues of CAE mixture were extracted using SWOT analysis. As a result of this analysis, it was found that the issues are lack of awareness and lack of manufacturing bases.

In this paper, the following methods are proposed to solve these issues. For increasing awareness, the evaluation method using a two-axis graph (positioning-map) is effective because it is visually easy to understand. And for eliminating lack of manufacturing bases, it is effective to divert existing similar plants.
