Abstract

Especially in developing countries where economic growth is remarkable, asset management initiatives are recognized as important activities as well as new construction. To establish the asset management system, it is essential to accumulate data with reliability collected by daily maintenance work and periodic inspections, so there are some cases where equipment for periodic inspections appropriate to the actual condition of maintenance and long-term strategy of asset management is introduced. However, in the case where new inspection equipment is introduced in a country that has not carried out periodic inspection so far, there is not established process for verifying the reliability of the data acquired by the inspection equipment also. This paper aims to propose a process of the practical approaches that verify the reliability of inspection data collected by the inspection equipment introduced for asset management of road network managed by Addis Ababa City, Ethiopia, and to propose a generalized knowledge obtained from the result of practical activities.
