Abstract
A compaction grouting is generally known as one of countermeasures against liquefaction in airport sites. This method is currently designed by assuming that improved ground becomes denser due to the void change which is equal to the volume of grouting material injected to the ground. In this study, the improvement works were tried by the method which combined compaction grouting with curvilinear drilling in the airport site. Before and after improvement works, Piezo-Drive Cone Penetrator Tests and Standard Penetration Tests were respectively performed at same points in order to confirm the applicability of Piezo-Drive Cone Penetrator test to improved ground. According to the investigation results, applicability of Piezo-Drive Cone Penetrator Tests in improved ground was recognized.
