Abstract
This study estimated the number of people affected by interruption of train service after the 2011 Pacific coast of Tohoku Earthquake in Tokyo Metropolitan area. To achieve the objective, the restoration situations of train systems were compiled based on the survey by Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism. The lengths of traffic congestions recorded by Vehicle Information and Communication System (VICS) was also employed to evaluate the increment of road traffic demand.
