In Nakahara, a residential area in Mifune Town, serious damage was caused by the 2016 Kumamoto earthquake sequence. To better understand the mechanism of the damage, it is necessary to have a better understanding on the seismic response of the residential area during the foreshock and the main shock with high accuracy by taking into account site effects. In this study, we evaluated the similarity of the empirical site amplification and phase effects between Mifune Town Office and the residential area based on results of microtremor measurements and temporary earthquake observation.
