Abstract

For the bolted joints with filler plates using zinc-aluminum pseudo-alloy sprayed contact surfaces, the nut rotation angles of turn-of-nut tightening method and the slip coefficient for the design of the joint are not proposed because the axial force induced into the bolts and the slip capacity of the joints under those conditions have not been clarified. In order to clarify the induced axial force of the bolts, bolt-tightening tests and slip tests of joints were carried out.

Considering the influence of bolt diameter and bolt length on induced axial forces and its relaxation obtained in the bolt-tightening tests, the nut rotation angles according to different bolt sizes were proposed. As a result of the slip tests, it was found out that the slip coefficient is much larger than the standard design value.
