Abstract

This study focuses on yield resistance of connected plate of high strength bolted frictional joint. The yield resistance in after-slip behavior might be different from that before slip occurs. However, the detailed difference of the behaviors is not cleared enough. In this study, FEM analysis had been carried out to unveil the difference. The analysis shows that load transfer by friction on the surface out of net cross section is expected 10% or more of yield resistance of connected plate in before-slip behavior. However, the frictional load transfer in after-slip behavior is expected less than 10% of the yield resistance in some cases.
