Abstract

Authors have previously proposed a simplified method where seismic performances of a sheet-pile quay wall with vertical anchor pile can be well evaluated, although a modeling method of earth pressure during earthquake to be incorporated in the simplified method had not been established and remained for a future discussion. This study aims at proposing a seismic coefficient calculation method for Mononobe - Okabe earth pressure to be incorporated in the simplified method. The proposed method evaluates a seismic coefficient for earth pressure in accordance with three parameters of frequency characteristic of seismic motion on ground surface, quay wall height, and distance between the sheet-pile and vertical anchor pile. Applicability of the proposed method to engineering practice was shown.
