Abstract

We estimated the detailed damage distribution in Takatsuki and Ibaraki cities, Osaka prefecture, Japan, during the 2018 Northern Osaka earthquake. We found that there were several small areas where damages were locally concentrated. We conclude that the detailed damage distribution might not be accurately evaluated from the existing map of the site amplification factor, and that the characteristics of the housing along with the town’s historical background and the rate of aging might have affected it.
