Abstract
Aluminum base composites with CVD-fibre embedded near the surfaces were fabricated by flame fusion spraying and hot pressing. The composite with 0.163 Vf and 1 mm in thickness had the bending strength of more than 1.0 GPa. Cyclic bending stress was applied on the composite. The composite endured to 1077 cycles, even though the applied stress was as high as 80% of its bending strength, and decreasing of the applied stress was hardly observed during the fatigue test.
