Abstract
As a basic investigation of the static or fatigue strength of the composite laminates under the combined loading, the configuration and the stress distribution of the specimen to be used in the investigation are examined. The stress distribution of the crossed specimen with a stacking sequence of a laminate is analysed by the finite element method, and the effects of the root radius of the crossed portion, width and stiffened plates of the specimen under various kinds of the biaxial loading on the stress distribution are discussed. From the numerical results, the recommended informations to design the crossed specimen are obtained.
