Abstract
Time-dependent mechanical properties of high modulus CFRP have been studied by both time-dependent deformation tests and computational analyses. Time-dependent compliance modulus S22 and S66 were measured by the time-dependent deformation tests of CFRP [90]8 and [±45]s specimens respectively at several temperature levels (333-373 K). Then, the master curves of S22 and S66 were obtained. The analysis program for time-dependent deformation was developed on the basis of these time-dependent properties ; a finite element method is applied to this program and the inplane time-dependent deformation can be analyzed for symmetrically laminated CFRP structures with any laminate constitution. Then, time-dependent deformation of [±45/90]s, [±30]s CFRP laminated plates was discussed by both the results of 5 h time-dependent deformation tests and the predictions calculated by the analysis program. The predictions on the CFRP laminated plates are in good agreement with the experimental results ; this demonstrates that this analytical method is effective for the time-dependent deformation analysis of CFRP laminated plates.
