Abstract
The author derived a method to obtain the length distribution of visible part of fibers in a transparent matrix of a 2-dimentional composite. Some useful results were obtained by numerical calculations. (1) The length distribution of visible part is scarcely affected by fiber direction distribution in the composite. (2) The fiber direction observed at the surface tends to distribute to the fiber rich direction compared with that in the composite. (3) Observed profile at the surface is hardly affected by the fiber length except the fiber length is extremely short.
