Abstract
A theory developed in Part I has been applied to predict the yield loci in plane loading of unidirectional fiber composites consisting of an elastic-perfectly plastic matrix and elastic fibers. The Levy-von Mises equations are used as the plastic constitutive equations of the matrix. Results are explicitly shown for a boron fiber-aluminum system subjected to biaxial tension and longitudinal tension/longitudinal shear, including the effect of thermal residual stresses. Perfect correspondence of the results with the phenomenological failure criterion proposed by Tsai and Wu is obtained.
