Critical Care EEG Update

Abstract

Neurocritical Care EEG, which is getting popular in Europe and the United States, has recently begun to spread widely also in Japan. The neurocritical care EEG is generally called Critical Care EEG (CCE), but in Japan, it is difficult to give it an appropriate name in translation, and it is sometimes called by various names, such as emergency EEG, neuro-emergency EEG, and ICU EEG. In the guidelines to be published by the Japanese Society of Clinical Neurophysiology in the future, it is planned to unify these names into Critical Care EEG. In this paper, we present a recent update on Critical Care EEG.
