Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to introduce the “Theory of Goodness” explicated by Minoru Murai, to parents, teachers, and to researchers in various fields of study. The definition of education by Murai is “children want to live for goodness and adults want to help children to live for goodness. The activities of these adults are called EDUCATION”. The key proposition in Murai’s theory is “children want to live for goodness. However, adults cannot define what is goodness. This is the paradox of education”. In this paper, examples of “goodness” as it related to this issue are discussed.
