Abstract
The present study deals with the effects of application of various kinds of plant growth regulators (PGRs), including GA_3, GA_4, IAA, t-z, (±)JA-Me, ethrel, uniconaxole-p, AMO-1618, and 24-epi-BR, on growth and flushing of dormant buds in 2-year-old Aesculus turbinata seedlings. The PGRs were diluted in 50% acetone and 10 μl of each solution was injected to the dormant, currently-formaed buds of the seedlings in June 1998 with a microsyringe. The seedlings were nursed under field condition for 9 months until nextmarch 1999. The flushing and shoot growth of the seedlings treated with GA_4 (+)-ABA, and (±)-JA-Me occurred earlier than those of the seedlings treated with other PGRs and controls. The roles of these three PGRs in the flushing of winter buds of A. turbinata seedlings are discussed.
