After the amended Act on Organ Transplantation has been enforcement, In-house coordinator (IHCo) to be the cornerstone of the hospital system development increased. In order for the IHCo to carry out a role of their skills and expertise related basic knowledge of organ donation, adaptation criteria of organ and tissue donor, on the assessment of the organization and delivery organs, such as communication skills is required. However, the fact is that education and training programs for IHCo is few in Japan. I have participated in Transplant Procurement Management (TPM) in Barcelona, Spain. It is a practical education program for the purpose of improving the skills and basic knowledge of organ donation. It is necessary to acquire the expertise and skills of IHCo are to serve as a professional in the field of organ donation and transplantation medicine. And also, I was keenly aware that education which was standardized for that purpose is required. In order to increase the provision of organs and tissues, it is necessary to acquire the basic knowledge and skills to IHCo in the future. And to establish a career ladder and the development of education system standard for IHCo is desired.
