We analyzed the record of 45 patients who underwent kidney transplantation in Yonago medical center and the affiliated hospital, Yonago Hakuai hospital, from October 1987 till December 2013. The mean age of recipients of living-donors and non-heart-beating donors were 40.7±13.6 and 46.8±11.6 years old, respectively. The mean duration of dialysis was 3.49±4.13 years in recipients from living donors and 8.17±7.12 years in recipients from non-heart-beating donors. The rate of acute rejection decreased from 47.4% to 3.8% on the period of initiating the use of Basiliximab. We observed a relatively high incidence of vascular and hemorrhagic complications, and two patients died of hemorrhage at an early postoperative period. Malignancies were related to the causes of death in three cases of all eight fetal cases. The graft survival rates from living-donor at 5 years and at 10 years were 86.5% and 76.6%, respectively, both of which were equivalent to the report from the Japanese renal transplant registry. We must pay close attention to high-risk patients with hemorrhagic tendency during a perioperative period, and it is suggested that a screening for malignancy is indispensable in the follow-up of patients.
