The third reason affecting the renal allograft survival is recurrent glomerulonephritis. Recent works showed that the renal allograft survival in IgA nephropathy were worse than that had expected in part because of the recurrent of IgA nephropathy. Therefore, the prevention and treatment for recurrent IgA nephropathy are now an important topic regarding long term renal allograft survival in this disease. However, investigational studies for recurrent IgA nephropathy are limited and guideline for this have not been established so far. This review focused on patients with IgA nephropathy who underwent renal transplantation and discussed about risks, diagnosis, prevention and treatment for recurrent IgA nephropathy.
