Abstract
The upper reservoir of the Omarugawa pumped-storage power plant of Kyushu Electric Power Co., Inc., now under construction, will be one of the largest reservoirs with asphalt surfacing in Japan. As for the construction, large earthwork management of fill works of transition layers that underlie asphalt facing were needed. The owner and the constructor introduced multiple IT construction systems in order to execute effective spreading and compaction and surveying. Due to introduction of these systems, the construction work control of this site has been conducted successfully and efficiently in terms of accuracy, manpower and time saving. This paper outlines these IT construction systems and effectiveness.
