Abstract
Super Falling Weight Deflectometer (SFWD) is an automatic ground diagnosis system used for investigating the ground stiffness rapidly, simply and accurately by using multi-stage loading and accumulated displacement method. Our past trial works on various ground conditions indicated that SFWD correlates well with plate loading test and in-situ CBR test, and could be used to evaluate the deformation property with high reliability. This time, SFWD was applied to base investigation and embankment quality control at Gima Dam construction site. The obtained results proved the high applicability of SFWD for evaluating the stiffness of base ground and embankment in dam construction.
