Concrete placing methods for concrete gravity dam are classified roughly three types which are Columnar Block (columnar block shape concrete placing) construction method, ELCM (extended layer construction method) and RCD construction method. In recent years, the RCD (roller compacted dam (concrete)) construction method is generally adopted to medium-scale volume and large-scale volume dams. We also grappled with automatization these construction machines.
On the other hand, the trend of the construction business, which movement to close 8 times in 4 weeks by work style reform, have being spread throughout to the dam construction.
In this paper shows inspection of the performance of the Kawakami Dam construction works and discussing the new technique of the dam construction.
