Construction of Hirase Dam on the Clear Stream Nishiki River

Abstract

Hirase Dam is a gravity concrete dam constructed on the Nishikigawa River, which flows through the eastern part of Yamaguchi Prefecture. In this construction project, we worked to improve productivity by developing through technological development and using precast concrete for structures inside the dam, and we also conducted construction with consideration for environmental conservation. This paper reports on the details of these efforts in addition to the dam construction records.
