Abstract
The patient was a 36-years-old woman undergoing hemodialysis due to chronic glomerulonephritis since 1997. Hemodialysis was initiated during her first pregnancy in 1997. She delivered a child at 27 weeks of pregnancy by cesarean section. The child weighed 362g and died during the neonatal period. She continued dialysis under the supervision of a local doctor. Her second pregnancy was by artificial fertilization in 2000. Again, she delivered a child at 31 weeks of pregnancy by cesarean section. The child weighed 452g and died during the neonatal period. Her third pregnancy was by artificial fertilization in 2006, and she was hospitalized at our obstetrics ward in June, during her ninth week of pregnancy. We performed dialysis 5 times a week until 19 weeks of pregnancy, and after 20 weeks of pregnancy, dialysis was performed 6 times a week. Fetal development was good, and there were no signs of malformation. Cesarean section was performed at 37 weeks of pregnancy and the child weighed 2,370g. One minute and five minutes Apgar score were 8 and 9 points, respectively. The post-operative courses of the mother and child were both good, and they were both discharged 8 days after delivery.
