Abstract
The clinical course of a chronic renal failure patient with old myocardial infarction and left ventricular aneurysm who underwent CAPD therapy for 3 years was studied. For patients with serious heart diseases, it has been said that CAPD has less of an influence on the cardiovascular system, although it way accelerate arteriosclerosis and ischemic heart diseases. In this patient who had appropriate dietary regimens and good control of hypertension, there was no deterioration of lipid disorders, stenosis of the coronary arteries or decreased cardiac function. However, there are problems as to which blood purification method is to be selected for patients with serious heart diseases.
Considering this case, we conclude, that CAPD is a good method for such patients.
