Abstract
The implementation of music creation with an awareness of musical form and linking techniques
in music creation has become an issue for high-school-level music classes. In this study,
with the recently developed learning environment of one tablet per student, the author used
tablets and focused on the method of composing music by devising a way to combine short sampled audio materials that can be played in a loop, to familiarize students who had insufficient experience in music creation without being influenced by their experience with musical instruments or knowledge of music. To examine how the use of tablets and music production software promoted students' learning, the author selected two students who had problems in learning music, and traced the changes in their learning status based on their project and their comments. The results showed that the students became aware of the overall structure of
the music and began to create music with a beginning, middle, and end, as well as a series of flow, and in the process, they began to objectively perceive the creative process, set their own learning tasks, and self-regulate their creative expressions.
