11. Hybrid CPV/PV Module and Tracking Plate Solar Cells Evaluation by field testing

Abstract

A hybrid CPV/PV module combining 3J cells and Si cell was fabricated and its power generation characteristics were evaluated based on long-term field tests. The power generation of the hybrid CPV/PV module is less affected by steep fluctuations in direct normal irradiance than conventional CPV modules due to the combined use of Si cell. Its power generation efficiency with respect to the global normal irradiance incident on the module varied from 17 to 35%, depending on the fraction of diffuse irradiance.
