Abstract

The purpose of this study is to establish a hydrogen production and reduction cycle using solar energy. The cycle is based on the redox system of zinc oxide. Sunlight is focused using a Fresnel lens and used as a heat source. When zinc oxide and carbon in a reaction tube are heated, the zinc oxide is reduced and zinc is generated. The zinc and water are then reacted to produce hydrogen. This time, we conducted an experiment using an electric furnace. Investigate the maximum hydrogen concentration when changing the water injection amount, zinc amount, and heating temperature.
