Abstract

This study explores the impact of load profile variability on optimal PV and BESS capacities in a diesel generator generator-based microgrid using HOMER Pro software simulations. By analyzing the variability of Day-to-Day and Time-Step effects, the research assesses how these factors influence energy modeling accuracy, and microgrid stability. Simulated profiles are compared to real Japanese residential load data to evaluate precision along with the load data from a Tanzanian village for the potential estimation of PV and BESS capacities using Peak Power Ratio metric.
