Abstract

As a novel approach to the conventional method of evaluating bubble adhesion force on discrete surface points, the bubble scans adhesion force measurement was demonstrated to enable the continuous measurement of bubble adhesion force over the surface. The differences in adhesion force due to wettability variations were successfully detected. The scan force on nonuniform surfaces changed at the boundary, and its variation was interpreted by the observed bubble behavior. The usefulness of the proposed method is discussed.
