Abstract

An evaluation was conducted on thin-film silicon PV, which is known to experience reduced power generation with increasing temperature, to assess the impact of adhesive application methods on PV temperature and power generation. It was found that applying adhesive parallel to the wind flow direction or using dot application resulted in lower temperatures on the backside of the PV module compared to applying adhesive perpendicular to the wind flow direction. At a wind speed of 3 m/s, a temperature difference of approximately 3°C was observed, which can be translated to a 1.25% difference in power generation.
