10　Challenges of PV deployment in the communities and decarbonization leading areas

Abstract

In Japan, the number of local governments declaring themselves zero-carbon cities has reached more than 1,100, but the development of roadmaps for regional decarbonization is still in its infancy. Among them, 82 proposals have been selected as Decarbonization Leading Aeas and are starting to move toward achieving 100% renewable energy in their regions. Therefore, we will analyze examples in the Decarbonization Leading Areas and the status of solar PV penetration in the region and examine issues and measures to promote the deployment of solar PV in the region.
