Abstract

We evaluated the heating, cooling, and thermal storage capacities of “Momo no Yado” in Kawasaki Town, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan, which aims to be a ZEH. The renewable energy equipment used in this accommodation is solar panels, a solar water heater, a wood-fired boiler, and groundwater. For heating, each room maintained more than 20°C and sufficient heating capacity was confirmed. The cooling capacity was sufficient to provide an adequate cooling experience. The thermal storage performance was calculated to be 4.5 MJ/K by calculation and 4.3 MJ/K by theory, which is close to the value obtained.
