Abstract
The combined toxicity of chromium and copper on the growth of mulberry seedlings was investigated with the hydroponics. Two-factor designed experiments in the total 25 added areas were carried out. Namely, formulating 5 levels of Cr concentration (0, 0.5, 2.0, 4.0 and 8,0 mgl-1) with the ordinary hydroponic solution, and then corresponding to each of the above hydroponic solution containing Cr, Cu of 5 concentration levels (0, 1.0, 3.0, 6.0,12.0 mg1-1) was added. The results obtained by the analysis of variance to the dry weight growth indicated that the combined effects of Cr and Cu were significant. Moreover, the effects of growth abstruction resulted from the co-existence of Cr and Cu showed that the combined toxicity of Cr and Cu might be antagonistic action.
