The present study examined the patterning of occurrence of cracks due to intermediate coating and overcoat on earth wall. 1) In controlling the cracking patterning, it is important to change the tensile strength rather than changing the Young's modulus of multiple clays. 2) In the control of the fineness of the mesh-like cracks, the relationship
between the coating thickness of the clay and the roughness of the substrate surface is important.
