Thermoelastic Properties of MgSi0₃ and CaSi0₃ Perovskitesunder Lower-Mantle Conditions

Abstract

A four-parameter model for calculating P-V-T equation of state and adiabatic Lamé constants of MgSiO₃ and CaSiO₃ perovskites is presented. The resulting equations of state are in good agreement with available experimental data. The calculated density and sound velocities, v_p and v_s, of these silicate perovskites under lower-mantle conditions are compared with PREM.
